Each year, Nike celebrates National Puerto Rican Day with a themed pair of kicks. For 2022, it outfitted the Air Force 1 Low with two tribute colorways. Pivoting to this year, it was revealed in May that the Swoosh would be revisiting the Air Max 1 through a Puerto Rican lens, following up on 2019's release.
